About London Leisure College
We pride ourselves on developing the highest quality of courses, which reflect the
latest developments in the industry, and are taught by exceptional tutors that have
recent, relevant industry experience.
Through this approach we improve both the employability of all our learners,
or provide a direct route to higher education.
Everything London Leisure College strives to achieve is driven by our underpinning vision and mission.
"To be London leading provider of vocational training, qualifications,
workforce skills development and educational courses
for the Leisure Industry."
"Providing excellence in Leisure Industry learning opportunities
for the current and future workforce of London,
matching employer needs and closing the skills gap."
London Leisure College, first developed in 2000 as a partnership between Greenwich Community College (GCC), the leading further education provider in GLL, London leading Leisure Trust and the 2004 UK Social Enterprise of the year. We developed our first base at the Valley, home of Charlton Athletic Football Club, as part of a partnership bid with the club to secure European funding to develop the North Stand.
We have continued our successful growth across London opening additional delivery centres at Crystal Palace and Eltham in 2007, and continue to expand the number and range of partnerships with industry employers, colleges and training providers every year.
The Olympic and Paralympic games brought massive opportunity for employment & volunteering. LLC worked with a number of organisations, including the five Olympic Boroughs, to develop and deliver the training that helped to deliver both our Olympic and Paralympic Games aspirations and also the legacy opportunities arising from the new facilities and hosting of the Games.
Independent awards support London Leisure College's success in delivering our Vision. These include:
- The Beacon Award for Employer Links from the Association of Colleges
- Award for the Most Exciting & Innovative Project in London, from the Learning and Skills Council.
- Accredited as Centre of Excellence for Leisure Operations with Sector Skills council for Sport & Active Leisure.
