OCR Level 3 National Certificate, Diploma & Extended Diploma in Travel and Tourism
Who is the course for?
Are there any pre-requisites?
- Five GCSE passes at Grade C or above including English
- An appropriate level 2 qualification at merit or distinction level
- Relevant experience.
- A valid passport to participate in overseas trips
- All applicants must also possess a high level of literacy and numeracy (at least to level 2 standard). An Initial Assessment will be undertaken during the application process to assess literacy and numeracy levels.

- Investigating the airline industry

National Key Skills award in Commuication.
You will also have the opportunity to take additional AS levels in a variety of subjects.
**Please note that some units may be subject to change**How is the course structured?
Full time (up to 4 days per week) for one year, over 2 semesters. All 3 core units studied in semester 1 must be completed to minimum pass standard by our inter-semester week in February to continue on the course until the end of the academic year in June.
** Please note our February inter-semester week may not co-incide with local school half term dates **
Portfolio, tutorial, workshop and enrichment sessions also form part of your timetable, to provide academic and pastoral support throughout the year.
All units are internally assessed so you do not need to sit exams. Assessment and grading of each unit is done by the subject tutor and follows strict guidelines from OCR. Between 5 and 6 assessments will be required per unit.
Educational Visits
A number of educational visits will be arranged to assist you in completing your coursework, as well as experiencing industry procedures and practices. Failure to attend organised trips may affect your achievement.Students under 18 must have a consent form signed by their parent or guardian.A deposit of £40 per student must be paid when you enrol. This will be held by the college and put towards the cost of your trips. Every eligible student must apply to our Learning Support Fund, for help towards the costs of the trips.
